Chore Chart: Day One

I grew up on chore charts. Mine always had things like vacuum the WHOLE house or clean my SISTER's room, and then finish all chores my siblings left undone ... at least that's how I remember it. I guess that's the cross any eldest child must bear. Anyway, I think it's a good idea to start family participation in household jobs at a young age, especially with a little girl who loves to feel "helpful". We are starting small: comb hair, brush teeth, put away toys, make bed (to a 2-year-old's standards), and have a "happy attitude". I have to wonder, though, how long a sticker will be the ultimate reward in her eyes.
