“The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook” - Julia ChildLast night we (mom, Kurt, Micah and I, Ali, and sick and sleepless Charlotte) gathered around to watch Julie & Julia. Half of my enjoyment of the movie came from watching Meryl Streep having such a seemingly wonderful time playing her part. There was a contagious twinkle in her eye throughout the performance - it's still making me smile.
I loved that it was a movie I could comfortably watch with my husband and mother and little sister all in the room. There were bits of naughtiness, but always tempered by charming wit and humor.
